Energy

1/27
Our classroom needs electricity for lighting, especially when it is dark outside (due to inclement weather).

Engine: Tesla Motors engines

Reason: Silent operation. Can be hooked up in series to power the entire classroom. Don’t use fuel, and Bhutan has an abundance of hydroelectric power. With a few charging stations around the country, our buses will easily be able to make their rounds. In addition, these charging stations can get additional power from solar energy.

We have considered using solar panels as a supplemental energy source. In theory, this should not be hard to add to the bus, but it will make the entire design more expensive to build.
We have also considered using generators that connect to the bus's shock absorbers. As of this time, we have not found any viable options (when considering price).

1/7
The project was introduced to the class.

1/13
The energy group (Shreya, Ben, James, Janarth, and Michelle) made a group chat to begin the project and stop procrastinating

1/14
Janarth and James discussed possible ideas in school

1/15
Janarth and Janes brainstormed with members of the other middle school groups (namely Roberta and Yuzki) a list of possible energy ideas:
Tesla Motors engines
Projectors
Backup generators
Backup solar energy
Bioluminescent lights
Tesla Motors charging stations

1/21
Janarth and James continued to work with the other groups to solidify plans. A Google doc was made on which sub-group de facto representatives talked about their ideas and plans.

1/27
The blog was created. Janarth and James posted what they and the other sub-group representatives had thought of for energy. Michelle made all of the sketches.
